I would like to be considered for the Staff Writer/Editor position at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. BBG's mission and my personal values are symmetrical: I want to help people feel connection to, appreciation for, and knowledge of their environment. I am a natural storyteller fascinated by the natural world, and I will make a valuable addition to your digital team. 

As a writer for Food Tank, I gained experience pitching timely stories, interviewing subject experts, researching, collaborating with an editor, and adhering to Food Tank’s house style. After college, I cultivated an interest in the natural world and deepened my knowledge of horticulture through volunteering on organic farms. With a BA in visual communication design, I will meet the aesthetic demands of this role, such as using design and photography software. 

I am experienced in producing mission-driven content with a creative flair. I am especially passionate about making content that welcomes an audience behind the scenes. I did this when I worked in local food at WhatsGood Farm Shop. I cultivated relationships with vendors and created digital tours of their production facilities. 

I am confident that I can manage and add color to the duties of this role. I carry the potential to grow my skills and knowledge at BBG. What I may lack in experience, I make up for in vibrance and dedication. Thank you for your time and consideration.
